150 tons of relief supply for earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan

Aviation Without Borders / Wings of Help sent seven 40-foot container delivering aid to the crisis area

In a concerted action with several organizations and companies, Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen / Wings of Help will launch a major relief effort for Japan starting the beginning of April.

The goods, representing a total value of over 300,000 EURO (approx. $424,000) include 100,000 liters of potable water from Hassia Mineralquellen, 50 Euro pallets of baby food, thousands of blankets, Esbit camping cooker, dry biscuits and more. The relief supplies for earthquake and tsunami severely affected country should also reconfirm the long friendship and lasting bond between Germany and Japan.

Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen / Wings of Help is coordinating the relief efforts with its logistic partners, Schenker Germany, AG, DB Schenker AG Germany, Feed the Hungry eV and WACS - World Chefs without Borders, an organization, which is represented in 93 countries.


The “special relief train" is en route from Frankfurt, and is expected to depart from the container port in Hamburg on April 7th 2011.
